Dr. Cutney is originally from Fairfield, Connecticut, where she graduated from Fairfield High School. She received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology from Duke University, where she was on the Dean’s list. She earned her medical degree (MD) from the Jefferson Medical College of the Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She holds the distinction of being one of ten medical students to be elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society, in their junior year.
Dr. Cutney completed a transitional internship at Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She then returned to Philadelphia for her ophthalmology residency training at the Wills Eye Hospital. She has been an instructor in the Cataract and Primary Eye Care Service since joining Regional Eye Associates in 2003. She performs ocular surgery at the Wills Eye Surgery Center in Cherry Hill. Areas of special interest include cataract surgery, laser surgery, and treatment of eye diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, and ocular surface disorders.
Dr. Cutney is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). She is also a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS). She is certified in LASIK surgery techniques including the VISX laser, wavefront refractive surgery and the Amadeus microkeratome. She is also fully trained in the use of presbyopia-correcting intraocular lenses, including the Crystalens and Restor implants.
Dr. Cutney is happily married and is the proud mother of two children. Her outside interests include caring for her family, exercising when possible, cooking, knitting, and skiing.
